"Serenade" entered my mind within minutes of Cory telling me that Rob had died. I did not know Rob personally. But "Calla Lily" was an *enormous* musical achievement in the Nebraska scene as I knew it, I have always felt a bit strange being its digital steward, and now I feel even stranger. But if you are listening to it, that is good. I have chased the lyrical accomplishment of "Serenade" over and over in my own writing, never getting there, but that's how much this EP and that song specifically means to me. I put it on one of the mixtapes I made for my now-spouse as the closer.
